Molly Saft is a native Atlantan who never got out and has lived in Candler Park for the past 4 years with her husband, Andrew, and children Charlotte (1st grade) and Parker (Pre-K).  Molly is a Senior Brand Insights Manager at The Coca-Cola Company, where she has worked for almost a decade.  She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) focused in Marketing from University of Georgia - Terry College of Business in 2006. In her "free time" she finds herself volunteering to make her children's teachers' lives slightly easier or attempting to play tennis after a 25 year hiatus.

Amanda Rhein - Chair Elect

Amanda lives in Inman Park with her husband, David Adams, and daughter Della Adams who is in second grande at Mary Lin. Amanda is Executive Director of the Atlanta Land Trust, a non-profit committed to creating and preserving housing in Atlanta that will remain affordable in perpetuity. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and moved to Atlanta in 2002 to earn a Master of City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech. Amanda serves on several nonprofit boards including the Atlanta Preservation Center, Rebuilding Together Atlanta and the Urban Land Institute Atlanta District Council. What's this item about? Kristy Rachal

Kristy Rachal and her husband, Tyrone, moved to Lake Claire in 2011. They have a daughter, Chloe, who is in the 3rd grade at Mary Lin. Kristy is the Community Development Manager at Georgia Power Company, where she is responsible for the Company’s efforts in preparing communities for growth and bringing new jobs and investment to the state. Prior to her current role, Kristy was the Land Sales Manager, where she oversaw GPC real estate sales and leasing, and she was a Senior Staff Attorney, also at Georgia Power.  Kristy was the Director of the Consumers’ Utility Counsel Division at the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs, and she worked as an attorney for the Women and Children’s Advocacy Project at the Legal Clinic for the Homeless before joining GPC. Kristy graduated from Spelman College and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia. She currently serves on the boards of Georgia CASA, Park Pride, the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, and Georgia Cities Solutions, and she has served on the boards of VOX Teen Communications, CREW Atlanta, and the Atlanta Science Festival. In her free time, you’ll find Kristy reading, travelling with her family, or leading her Girl Scout troop (all Mary Lin third graders) for the fourth consecutive year.

Rob Hancharick

Rob and his family have lived in the Mary Lin school district since 2007, relocating from NYC to Atlanta in 2005.  He is the proud father of 2 children, Lyla, who is in 3rd grade at Mary Lin and Aida, who is in pre-K at the Frazer Center.  Rob earned a bachelors degree at the University of North Carolina and a masters at the Pennsylvania State University.  Rob works as a business intelligence professional and has spent many years managing projects, including  business process improvement, software development and implementation projects.  In his spare time, Rob enjoys whitewater kayaking, mountain biking and relaxing with friends.

Andy Deutsch, Marketing & Communications

Andy is originally from Asheville, NC - but has been in Atlanta for over 16 years. Andy has spent his career in marketing working at Coca-Cola, Cox Automotive, Twitter, NCR and California Pizza Kitchen developing creative ideas, brand strategies and advertising campaigns for some of the world’s most iconic brands. 

 

But clearly the most important part of his life is his family --  he's married to Lauren, the most amazing woman ever who is a sports and entertainment lawyer at Turner Broadcasting. And is the proud dad of Molly (7 years old), Reid (3 years old) and Jacob (18 months old) and Grizz, a horse-sized dog. They all live in Candler Park.

Heather Lamb, Immediate Past Chair

Heather Lamb serves as the past chairman of the Mary Lin Foundation for the 2020-2021 school year to ensure a seamless transition to the new leadership, having served as Chair of the MLEF during the 2019-2020 school year.  Heather brings deep fundraising and non-profit board leadership experience to the Mary Lin Foundation Board.  She has served as a Trustee on the Mary Lin Foundation for 4 years.  Heather is a 4th generation Atlantan (on both sides) with a deep love for the city.  She graduated from Georgia Tech in 2001 where she met her husband, Dirk.  Together, they moved to Lake Claire in 2006 and now have a 5th grader, Avery, and 1st grader, Zachary.  Heather is a commercial real estate broker for Colliers International specializing in office leasing.  She has served as a board director or fundraising member for many organizations for Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, CREW Atlanta, The Frazer Center and The Atlanta Women’s Foundation and enjoys doing the same for the Mary Lin Foundation.  In her free time, you’ll see her running in the neighborhood, swimming at Lake Claire pool with her two kids and spending time with neighbors.

Alyson Godwin, Secretary

Alyson Goodwin received her BA in English Literature from Rice University and her MD from Emory University.  She completed residency training at the University of California, San Francisco and worked in medical education at UCSF and in student health at UC Berkeley before returning to Atlanta in 2013 to take her current position as Associate Director for Psychiatry Services at Emory University Student Health Services. She lives in Candler Park with her husband Andy Lackey, daughters Lila and Sylvie (third- and first- graders at Mary Lin), cat Jello, and puppy Buttercup. In her free time she practices yoga and reads.

Sarah-Nell Walsh has lived in Lake Claire for 10+ years with her husband, Albert Guthrie.  She is an executive coach, helping ambitious professionals optimize their careers, hone their leadership skills, and navigate the intersection of life + work. Prior to coaching, Sarah-Nell was a litigation partner at a 700+ attorney AmLaw 100 firm. Sarah-Nell graduated from the University of Virginia and received her Juris Doctorate from the College of William & Mary. She is a proud mother to a fifth grader, a second grader, and a (hopefully growing) number of foster children. 

Emily Kotzan, Trustee - Grant Coordinator

Emily Kotzan holds a Master's of Education from Georgia State University and has 15 years of experience teaching High School History in public and private school settings. During that time she became credentialed to teach Gifted students and later taught in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. She went on to be a regional leader in assessing the work of students worldwide for IB. A firm believer in the benefits of travel, Emily spent time teaching in both Ecuador and Singapore. Eventually, she returned to Atlanta and taught at the Atlanta International School until her third child was born. Most recently, Emily served as a member of the Founding Board at Freedom Park Preschool and a Mary Lin room parent. Emily has three children at Mary Lin – Jules and Henry, rising 3rd graders, and Mae, a rising 2nd grader. 

Peter Kruskamp, Trustee - Fundraising

Peter moved to Lake Claire in 2012 just prior to the birth of his first child. Peter and his wife, Stephanie, now have three children, including a first grader at Mary Lin. Peter has a history in education as a former elementary school teacher in Gwinnett County. Currently, Peter is Associate Broker at The Shumacher Group, a commercial real estate firm specializing in restaurant and retail transactions, as well as Principal and Broker for Shumacher Property Management Group, a residential and commercial property management firm.
